This week at Art Camp, campers of all ages (8-15) came together to draw, paint, sculpt, and do art of multiple other mediums. Every camper went hiking to Seven Springs campsite, and the oldest group spent the night. The most exciting evening program that occurred was the craft carnival- or "craftival", in which campers tie-dyed shirts, made bandanas, and many other things. Every single camper was engaged at the "craftival", and it went off without a hitch. We are sad to say goodbye to Art Camp but know they will take what they've learned here into the valley of the world.

St. George's Session III was the epitome of all things kooky. Whether it was the electives that the campers did every single day, or the clothing each person wore each day, everyone bought in to the idea that camp is a place to be authentically yourself. These pictures are just a small record of all the things that happened- including an elective in which the campers recorded a music video to "Send Me on my Way", and an elective in which campers actually built their own gigantic board games. We are forever reminded that each camper and counselor are all important members of the Body of Christ. Rain can't stop Explorers' Camp! Second session of Explorers' Camp hiked to North Mountain, Seven Springs, the Cross, and to Lake Laura (sometimes in the rain). The campers slept under the Happy Pavilion, followed by a night on top of North Mountain, and then spent a beautiful afternoon hanging out at Shenandoah National Park! The favorite activity of campers though, may have been "Mudfest", which is the last night mud party. Being in the wilderness allowed the campers and staff to fully connect with God and His creation this week at Explorers'. This week at St. Elizabeth's was filled with laughter, songs, and funny games and songs. Each camper was on a themed team named: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, or Green Lantern, and the staff intertwined the superhero theme into most activities including worship and electives. Overall, the week was a success and some of these pictures can attest to the happiness found at St. E's camp each year. |
