2017 SHrine Mont Camps Directors
Katie Franzel, Director of St. Andrew's Camp
Katie is excited to join the St. Andrew’s family this summer as Director. The loving community that Shrine Mont Camps create for staff and campers transformed Katie’s life and guides her everyday life. Katie teaches first grade, coaches cross-country, and tutors third grade in Indianapolis. She strives to lead with love everyday and foster the same sense of community that we work hard to achieve at camp. She first developed a passion for finding the individual strengths and talents of children as a Music and Drama Camp counselor. Katie uses this skill to create individual behavior and academic plans for each of her students, many of whom are learning English for the first time. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Sociology and is finishing her Master’s in Education from Marian University in May. She is passionate about social justice, hiking, and running. In fact, Katie is extremely proud of finishing two half-marathons in the past year!

His wife Stephanie is the bishop’s assistant for congregational support, providing assistance to Bishop Susan Goff in the diocesan offices. When he’s off the mountain, Rock serves as the Associate Rector to St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Richmond. He was ordained to the priesthood February 8th of 2015. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond, Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, and George Mason University School of Public Policy. CHRIS PACE, DIRECTOR OF St. SEBASTIAn's Sports camp
kathryn horn coneway, director of art camp
GAYLE TURNER, Director of Music & Drama Camp (MAD)
Jim Short, Director of St. George's Camp
Jim Short is super excited to be returning for his third summer as Director of St. George’s! Transitioning from two years as Musical Director and Camp Director of MAD Camp, Jim is pumped to extend the edges of our camp body to include all campers at all camps under the same love and inclusivity. Jim comes to us this year from California where he is a PhD student in Theatre and Drama at UC San Diego. Jim likes most things including Meatloaf (both the food and rock idol), floating on his back in the pool (which he is terrible at), and Bocce Ball (which he played once at an engagement party…it was ok). He believes it takes the same effort to be positive as it does negative. It’s the same energy to be kind as it is hateful. If you dig deep enough, you can never run out of love. Jim also loves: His dog Ollie, his grandma, coffee, snails, la commedia dell’arte, games of tag, basketball, coconut curry soup, Harry Potter, the color orange, lists, and Love Letter.

James Post, Director of St. Elizabeth's Camp
James is excited to be back on the mountain in a new role as Director of St. Elizabeth's! James has worked in so many different roles at camp, most recently as Director of St. Andrew's Camp and was a Chaplain last summer as well. When he isn’t running around the mountain, James will be stepping into his first year as Associate Dean of Students at Wakefield School where he will be helping to direct and implement co-curricular programming as well as fostering a positive and considerate student body at Wakefield. Previously James has been a Cabin Counselor at St. George's and a Chaplain at many of the Shrine Mont Camps. He graduated from Dickinson College in 2014 with a B.A. in History and Political Science. James is a big soccer fan and coaches it as well. He is very excited to be joining the St. Elizabeth's family and to continue to foster the relationships and connections between campers, counselors, and the Holy Spirit (which are key to this community!).
